The Travel Bumpers feature allows you to allocate travel time around your events, ensuring that your calendar accurately reflects the time required for travel. This setting also influences booking availability, helping to prevent scheduling conflicts and ensuring smooth operations.

Enabling Travel Bumpers

This option allows travel time to be shown as part of your calendar events, impacting both the scheduler and booking availability.

To enable Travel Bumpers:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Scheduler
  2. Locate the "Enable Travel Bumpers" option and toggle it on.

You can also customize how travel time is allocated around your events with the default bumper settings. This section outlines the four available options.

Options:

  • Not Set: No travel bumpers are applied.
  • Before: Travel time is added before the event.
  • After: Travel time is added after the event.
  • Before & After: Travel time is split evenly before and after the event.

Online Booking: The system will consider travel bumpers when checking for availability. If the travel bumper is longer than the default clinic buffer time, the system will prioritize the travel bumper.

Setting Travel Bumpers for Events

When creating or editing an event, you can now specify travel bumpers.

To apply travel bumpers to individual events:

  1. While creating a new event, locate the Travel section
  2. Select "Before," "After," or "Before & After" to customize travel bumper for this event.
Note: By default, the option you selected in your Travel Bumper settings will be preselected.

IMPORTANT: Travel bumpers are easily recognizable on the calendar, marked with a diagonal lines background. If the travel bumper is greater than the default clinic buffer time, the system will use the travel bumper time for availability checks.

Managing Events with Travel Bumpers

Travel bumpers are also applicable for recurring events, ensuring that your calendar consistently reflects travel time for each occurrence. When setting up a recurring event, apply the desired travel bumper setting.

For recurring events, it's important to check whether the event has the Recurring icon or the Exception to Recurring icon.

Recurring Icon : This means the event is part of a series. When you add a travel bumper, you’ll be prompted to choose whether to update just that event or all future events in the series.
Exception to Recurring Icon: This indicates that the event was previously updated with the "This Event Only" option. In this case, adding a travel bumper will apply it only to that specific event, not the entire series.

Kindly ensure that you’re updating an event with the Recurring icon and choose to apply changes to the entire series when prompted.

If you move/reschedule an event, the travel bumpers will automatically adjust.
